| Obverse description | Laureate head of the emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the characteristic Roman imperial portrait style with naturalistic features. The legend encircles the bust within the coin's border, reading ΑΥΤ ΝΕΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ Ϲ(ΕΒ ΓΕΡ), identifying the emperor with his full titulature. The portrait displays the laureate wreath typical of Roman imperial coinage of the Trajanic period. The flan is slightly irregular, as is common for provincially struck bronze issues of this region. |
