| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, rendered in three-quarter view from the rear, displaying paludamentum over the cuirass. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΔΕΚΙϹ, with the misspelling ΔΕΚΙϹ for ΔΕΚΙΟϹ noted as characteristic of this issue. The portrait exhibits the typical provincial die-cutting style of the Carian conventus, with bold if somewhat rough workmanship consistent with the Antioch ad Maeandrum mint. |
