The deity is depicted holding a double axe (labrys) upright in his raised right hand and resting upon a long spear or sceptre with his left hand, in the canonical iconographic type of Zeus Labraundos venerated at the sanctuary near Euromus. An eagle stands at the god's feet to the left. The encircling ethnic legend ΕΥΡΩΜΕΩΝ identifies the issuing civic authority. The reverse type reflects the religious and cultural significance of the Labraundos cult in Carian civic identity. |

Euromus was a minor Carian city whose claim to lasting fame rests almost entirely on the extraordinarily well-preserved Temple of Zeus Lepsynos, several columns of which still stand with their entablature intact — an unusual survival. Civic bronze issues under Trajan were the bread-and-butter of municipal autonomy in the Greek East, produced locally to handle small transactions the imperial mint had no interest in supplying.
The ethnic ΕΥΡΩΜΕΩΝ identifies the issuing authority with the genitive plural construction standard to civic bronzes of the region.
