Obverse description Laureate and cuirassed bust of Emperor Septimius Severus facing right, rendered in three-quarter rear view, with the pauldron and armour details of the cuirass visible. The imperial effigy is depicted in the characteristic Severan provincial style, with the laureate wreath clearly rendered atop the head. A Greek legend encircles the bust in the field, reading from left to right around the periphery of the flan.
