| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Philip II facing right, depicted from the rear in the three-quarter back view typical of mid-third century provincial coinage. The imperial effigy exhibits the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder and the segmented cuirass characteristic of Roman military portraiture. The encircling Greek legend identifies the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and the strike slightly off-center, consistent with provincial workshop production of the period. |
