Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Philip I (Philip the Arab) facing right, seen from the rear, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of the Lydian conventus. The imperial effigy is boldly modelled despite the small module, with the laurel wreath, paludamentum, and cuirass clearly articulated. The encircling Greek legend occupies the field periphery, partially visible on this irregular flan.
