| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Maximinus I (Thrax) facing right, depicted from behind in three-quarter rear view, as is characteristic of certain provincial issues of this reign. The imperial effigy is rendered in the typical provincial style of the Ephesian mint, with the paludamentum visible over the cuirassed shoulder. The obverse legend encircles the bust, giving the emperor's full titulature in Greek. |
