| Beschrijving voorzijde | Confronted laureate busts of co-emperors Marcus Aurelius (right) and Lucius Verus (left), facing one another in the provincial Greek style typical of joint-reign civic bronzes. Both portraits display the characteristic bearded effigies of the Antonine period, rendered in low relief. A partially preserved Greek legend surrounds the field, reading ΑΥΤΟΚΡΑΤΟΡΑΣ ΑΝ[---], invoking the imperial title of the two Augusti. The flan is irregular, consistent with provincial hand-struck production. |
