Reverse description Two deities of health and healing depicted in the field: to the left, Hygieia stands facing right, extending a patera in her right hand to feed a serpent coiling upward from below; to the right, Asclepius stands frontally with head turned to the left, his right hand resting upon a serpent-entwined staff (kerykeion-form). The composition is symmetrical and typical of Phrygian civic reverse types celebrating divine patronage of well-being. The ethnic legend ϹΥΝΑΕΙΤΩΝ — 'of the Synaitans' — appears in the field or along the border, identifying the issuing community.
