| 表面の銘文 | IMP C M OPE SEV MACRINVS (Translation: Emperor Caesar Marcus Opellius Severus Macrinus) |
| 裏面の説明 | The Genius of the colony stands facing left in the field, rendered as a togated male figure holding a patera in his extended right hand over a small lighted altar at his feet, while cradling a cornucopia in his left arm. The composition reflects the standard civic iconography employed by the Roman colony of Parium to express its prosperity and religious piety. The abbreviated colonial legend is distributed in the field around the central type. The die-work is typical of the provincial mint at Parium, with a broad, flat flan and bold, if somewhat worn, relief. |

Parium, a Roman colony on the southern Marmara coast, maintained active local bronze coinage well into the third century — unusual for a city whose Greek origins stretched back to the seventh century BC. Macrinus, who seized power after orchestrating the assassination of Caracalla in April 217, reigned barely fourteen months before being defeated by Elagabalus's forces at Antioch. Provincial mints like Parium would have received the new imperial titulature with some delay, making the window for this type exceptionally narrow.
