| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two nude children depicted in lively genre scene, crouching and playing with astragali (knucklebones), facing one another in the field. Between and behind the children stands the iconic cult statue of Artemis Anaïtis, rendered in the characteristic frontal, xoanon-like pose associated with the Lydian goddess. The reverse legend encircling the design records the civic magistracy under whose authority the coin was struck. The composition reflects the local religious and cultural identity of Hypaepa in Lydia. |
