| 正面描述 | Draped bust of Empress Sabinia Tranquillina facing right, wearing a diadem, her hair elaborately arranged. The effigy is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage of the mid-third century AD. The encircling Greek legend identifies the empress by her imperial title and name. The portrait, though worn, retains the characteristic features of Tranquillina as depicted on issues of Nicaea during the reign of Gordian III. |

| 背面描述 | Athena, the patron deity of Nicaea, seated to the left upon a high-backed throne, holding a small Nike figure in her extended right hand and a long spear in her left; a round shield rests against the side of the throne. The composition reflects the civic pride of Nicaea and its close identification with the goddess Athena. The encircling Greek ethnic legend ΝΙΚΑΙΕΩΝ runs along the periphery of the field. The reverse type is characteristic of Nicaean bronze issues struck under Gordian III and is executed in the provincial hammered tradition. |
