| Obverse description | Draped bust of Furia Tranquillina Augusta facing right, adorned with a diadem, her hair elaborately arranged in the Severan fashion with braids drawn back. The portrait is rendered in the provincial Roman style typical of the Smyrnaean mint, with the Imperial consort's features modelled in moderate relief. The encircling Greek legend names her with her full titulature, running around the bust. |

In his extended right hand he holds a cantharus, while his left hand rests upon his club, which is set upon the ground; a chlamys is draped over his left forearm and the club. The figure evokes the protective deity of Smyrna, emphasizing the city's pride in its triple neocorate status, as proclaimed in the encircling Greek legend. |
