Obverse description Draped and helmeted bust of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet adorned with a crest. The bust is rendered in the provincial style characteristic of Athenian coinage under Gallienus, with visible drapery at the shoulder. The flan is irregular, and the design is set within a beaded border.

Reverse description A four-legged prize table depicted in profile, upon which are arranged, from left to right, a facing owl, a leftward-facing bust of Athena, and a wreath, referencing the Panathenaic Games. A palm branch appears in the exergue, and the ethnic legend ΑΘΗΝΑΙΩΝ is inscribed in the field with ΟΛΥΜΠΙΑ denoting the Olympic context of the issue.
