| 背面描述 | A winged caduceus — the herald's staff of Hermes, entwined with two serpents and surmounted by wings — is depicted upright at the centre of the field, resting upon or placed before a stepped altar. The device occupies the majority of the reverse field, framed by the civic legend of Cyzicus. The caduceus, as an emblem of commerce and divine protection, was a favoured type for the prosperous harbour city of Cyzicus. The reverse legend identifies the city and its neocorate status, written in Greek around the periphery. |
