Obverse description Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style. The imperial effigy is depicted with a laurel wreath and paludamentum visible at the shoulder. The circumferential Greek legend reads Λ ΑΙ ΑΥΡΗΛΙ ΚοΜΜοΔοϹ, naming the emperor by his abbreviated titulature, distributed around the portrait within a beaded border. The die work is characteristic of Bithynian civic coinage of the late Antonine period.
