| Obverse description | Laureate, draped bust of Emperor Commodus facing right, rendered in the provincial Greek style typical of Bithynian coinage. The emperor's effigy displays a laurel wreath and cuirassed or draped shoulders. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the periphery of the flan, reading Α Κ Μ ΑΥ ΚΟ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΝ, abbreviating his full imperial style. The portrait is boldly struck in high relief on an irregular flan with a patinated green surface. |
