Obverse description Laureate and draped bust of Emperor Claudius facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Judaean civic bronzes of the mid-first century AD. The laureate wreath is depicted with pronounced leaf detail, and the portrait shows a bearded, mature visage with characteristic Claudian physiognomy. The field is plain, and the coin is bordered by a dotted beaded circle. No obverse legend is present, the imperial identification being conveyed solely through the portrait.
