She extends her right hand forward holding a patera from which she feeds a large serpent coiling upward, a standard iconographic attribute of the deity. The encircling Greek legend ΗΡΑΚΛΗΑϹ ΕΝ ΠΟΝΤΩ (of Heraclea in Pontus) identifies the issuing civic authority of this provincial bronze issue. |
