| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Caracalla facing right, portrayed in the characteristic heavy-featured style of his later portraiture. The imperial effigy fills the central field, with the laurel wreath rendered in relief. The Greek legend ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ ΑΥΓΟΥϹΤΟϹ (Antoninus Augustus) is disposed around the periphery of the flan. |
