Year 14 of Antoninus Pius's reign — the regnal year encoded in the ΙΔ of the reverse inscription — places this piece squarely within Alexandria's most administratively stable minting period under Roman rule. The Alexandrian bronze series operated on an Egyptian calendar year system entirely distinct from Rome's, which is why Alexandrian issues can often be dated with unusual precision relative to other provincial bronzes.
