| Obverse description | Draped bust of Sarapis facing right, wearing the characteristic kalathos (modius) atop his head. The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic tradition typical of provincial coinage from Phrygia. The encircling legend ΑΜΟΡΙΑΝΩΝ runs around the bust in Greek script, identifying the city of Amorium as the issuing authority. The flan is irregular and the relief relatively worn, consistent with a circulated provincial bronze issue of the Antonine period. |
