| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from behind in the characteristic three-quarter rear view employed on certain provincial issues. The effigy conveys the military authority of the emperor through the cuirass and paludamentum, with the laurel wreath denoting imperial dignity. The surrounding field is heavily encrusted with patina, obscuring much of the peripheral legend. The Greek obverse legend, partially legible, reads ΠΟ ΛΙΚΙΝ ΓΑΛΛΙΗΝΟϹ, identifying the emperor as Publius Licinius Gallienus. |
