| Obverse description | Radiate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted three-quarter view from the rear, a presentation characteristic of provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. The radiate crown, indicative of imperial authority, surmounts the head, while the paludamentum and cuirass denote his military rank. The surrounding Greek legend, partially legible due to wear, identifies the emperor by his full titulature. The flan is irregular and shows heavy green and brown patination consistent with long burial. |
