| Obverse description | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, portrayed three-quarter from the rear in the characteristic provincial style. The emperor's paludamentum and segmented cuirass are rendered with fine detail typical of Ephesian civic coinage. A circular Greek legend surrounds the imperial effigy within a beaded border. The portrait conveys the military authority of the co-emperor in the sculptural idiom of mid-third century Asia Minor provincial workshops. |
