| Beschrijving voorzijde | Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gallienus facing right, depicted from the rear in the so-called heroic three-quarter view typical of mid-third century provincial coinage. The imperial effigy displays military paludamentum over the cuirass, rendered in low relief consistent with the local die-cutting tradition of Alexandria Troas. The surrounding Latin legend, partially legible due to flan irregularities, identifies the emperor by his imperial titulature. The flan shows characteristic green and brown patination with areas of cuprite, and the fabric is typical of the colonial bronze issues of the Troad region. |
