| Obverse description | Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of Trajanic-era revival portraiture adopted under Valerian. The emperor wears a radiate crown, military cuirass with pteruges visible at the shoulder, and a paludamentum draped over the left shoulder. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, enclosed within a beaded border. |
