Obverse description Radiate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view typical of Trajanic-era revival portraiture adopted under Valerian. The emperor wears a radiate crown, military cuirass with pteruges visible at the shoulder, and a paludamentum draped over the left shoulder. A circular Latin legend runs along the periphery, enclosed within a beaded border.

Reverse description A horse grazing or walking to the right, rendered in a naturalistic provincial style with mane and tail details visible, occupying the central field. The type alludes to the famous horses of Alexandria Troas, a motif emblematic of the colony's civic pride and frequently employed on its bronze coinage. A Latin colonial legend is divided around the type within a beaded border, with the lower portion of the inscription appearing in the exergual area.
