| Beschrijving voorzijde | Bare or lightly draped bust of Parios, the mythical founder of the city, facing left, depicted in the manner of a heroic or divine figure. The legend PARIO CONDIT runs around the periphery of the field, identifying him as the founder of Parium. The portrait is rendered in a provincial style characteristic of mid-third-century Mysian civic coinage. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Parium, a Roman colony on the southern shore of the Propontis, maintained an unusually active civic mint through the joint reign of Valerian I and Gallienus — one of the more turbulent stretches of the third-century crisis, bracketed by Valerian's capture by Shapur I at Edessa in 260 AD. The colonial abbreviation C G I H P expanded as Colonia Gemella Iulia Hadriana Pariana, reflecting successive imperial honorifics layered onto the city's title over generations.
