Reverse description A single torch set vertically in the field, entwined by a serpent coiling upward along its shaft, a type closely associated with the mystery cults and neokorate status of Cyzicus. The Greek civic legend encircles the design along the border of the flan, proclaiming the city's twice-neokorate honour. The reverse field is heavily worn and corroded, though the torch and serpent motif remain partially discernible. This imagery reflects Cyzicus's religious prestige as a neokoros city within the Roman provincial coinage tradition.
