Obverse description Draped bust of the Roman Senate personified, facing right, with idealized male features rendered in the Greek provincial style. The legend ΙΕΡΑ ϹΥΝΚΛΗΤΟϹ (Sacred Senate) surrounds the bust within a dotted border. The drapery is rendered with fine linear detail across the truncation, and the hair is depicted in short, layered locks characteristic of early second-century provincial coinage.
