| Obverse description | Laureate head of Emperor Trajan facing right, rendered in the prevailing Roman imperial portrait style. The emperor's features are depicted with characteristic realism, the laurel wreath clearly visible encircling the head. The surrounding Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ ΝΕΡ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΚΑΙϹΑΡ ϹΕΒ ΓΕΡ, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The die work is typical of provincial Bithynian bronze coinage of the Trajanic period. |
