| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Trajan Decius facing right, seen from the rear, conveying a three-quarter perspective characteristic of later provincial coinage. The effigy displays a laurel wreath, paludamentum, and cuirass rendered in low relief. The encircling Greek legend reads ΑΥΤ Κ ΤΡΑΙΑΝΟϹ ΔΕΚΙΟϹ, identifying the emperor by his full imperial titulature. The portrait style is consistent with the provincial workshop tradition of the Ephesus conventus, with somewhat summary but recognizable facial features. The field is plain, with no additional symbols or exergual markings. |
