Obverse description Confronted laureate busts of Augustus (left) and Tiberius (right), facing one another across the field, both draped; the arrangement emphasises dynastic continuity between the deified first emperor and his successor. A circular Greek legend surrounds the composition, reading ΣΕΒΑΣΤΟΙ ΕΠΙ ΠΟΠΠΑΙΟΥ, identifying the two Augusti and naming the local magistrate Poppaeus responsible for the issue. The style is characteristic of Pergamene civic bronze coinage of the Julio-Claudian period.
