| Reverse description | Livia, depicted as the goddess Σεβαστή (Augusta), seated on a high-backed throne to the right, her figure rendered in draped attire; she holds a long sceptre in her left hand and extends ears of grain in her right, alluding to her divine associations with Ceres-Demeter. The enthroned figure occupies the central field with a circular Greek legend surrounding her, divided between the magistrate's name and the civic ethnic of Pergamum. The composition reflects the prominent religious honours accorded to Livia by the city of Pergamum, one of the earliest centres of the imperial cult in Asia Minor. |
