Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Severus Alexander facing right, rendered in three-quarter view seen from the rear, a presentation style occasionally employed in provincial bronze coinage of the Severan period. The imperial effigy is executed with characteristic attention to military dress, emphasizing the cuirass and paludamentum. The encircling legend in Greek characters identifies the emperor by his full imperial titulature.
