He holds a dolphin in his extended right hand and a long trident upright in his left hand, both attributes emblematic of his dominion over the sea. The figure is rendered with a confident, well-proportioned stance typical of Ionian provincial bronzes. The ethnic legend ΦΩΚΑΙΕΩΝ is distributed in the field around the figure. The reverse surface shows olive-green patina with highlights of brown corrosion. |
