| Reverse description | Athena standing left in a dignified, static pose, her right hand resting upon a long spear and her left hand supporting a round shield set on the ground beside her. At her feet to the lower right, an owl is depicted facing front, the emblematic bird of the goddess. The composition follows the standard Athena Promachos or Athena Polias type common in Ionian civic coinage. The ethnic legend ΛΕΒΕΔΙΩΝ curves around the field, identifying the issuing city of Lebedus. |
