背面描述 Standing figure of Artemis depicted in three-quarter view to the right, her right hand raised to draw an arrow from the quiver at her shoulder, while her left hand grasps the bow. The goddess is rendered in a dynamic hunting pose, consistent with her role as divine huntress. The Greek reverse legend, naming the local archon Demophilos and the civic designation of the Hadrianians, is distributed around the figure in the field.

附加信息

Hadriani ad Olympum was one of several cities in the Mysian interior that either took or were granted the emperor's name during his reign — a civic honor tied directly to Hadrian's unusually active touring of the eastern provinces between 123 and 131 AD. The magistrate name ΔΗΜΟΦΙ likely abbreviates a local official whose full tenure is unattested outside bronze issues of this type. The conventus of Adramyteum administered a sprawling stretch of northwestern Asia Minor, and civic bronzes from its smaller constituent communities are considerably scarcer than those from Adramyteum itself.
