| Obverse description | Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Gordian III facing right, depicted from the rear in the characteristic three-quarter back view. The imperial effigy displays the laureate wreath, military cuirass, and paludamentum (military cloak) fastened at the shoulder. The surrounding field carries the Greek imperial titulature legend distributed around the bust. The coin shows typical provincial bronze fabric of the Samian mint, with a flan slightly irregular in outline. |

| Reverse description | Tetrastyle temple with four columns supporting a rounded (arched) pediment, rendered in frontal elevation; within the intercolumniation stands the archaic cult statue of Samian Hera, shown as a draped xoanon facing forward. The architectural rendering reflects the famous Heraion of Samos, one of the most celebrated sanctuaries in the ancient Greek world.
