| Obverse description | Bare, youthful laureate head of the Demos facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic civic portrait tradition. The facial features are idealized, evoking the personification of the citizen body of Aphrodisias. The legend ΔΗΜΟϹ appears in the field, identifying the effigy as the deified People. The portrait is executed in low relief consistent with provincial bronze coinage of the mid-third century AD. |
