| Beschrijving keerzijde | Two confronted busts facing one another, identified as Domitian and Domitia assimilated to the Kabeiroi, the mystery-cult deities venerated on Syros. Between the two busts rises a corn-ear, symbolising fertility and the agrarian associations of the Kabeiric cult. Below the busts appears a star and a bee, the bee being a traditional emblem of the Aegean islands and a recurring reverse type on coinage of the region. The divided ethnic legend ϹΥ-ΡΙ and ΚΑΒ-ΙΡΩΝ is distributed around the field. |
