Obverse description Bare-headed or diademed draped bust of Diadumenianus as Caesar facing right, rendered in the provincial style typical of Phoenician civic coinage. The portrait displays youthful features consistent with representations of Diadumenianus, son of Macrinus, during his brief tenure as Caesar in 217-218 AD. The surrounding Latin legend identifies the prince. The flan is irregularly shaped, as is characteristic of Syrian provincial issues of this period.
