Corinth's colonial coinage under Claudius was administered by locally appointed duoviri — the IIVIR designation here naming Licinus and Octavius as the magistrates responsible for this issue. The colony had been refounded by Julius Caesar in 44 BC on the site of the city destroyed by Mummius in 146 BC, and its Roman magistrate coinage reflects a thoroughly Latin civic identity unusual among Greek provincial mints. The iteration mark ITER indicates one or both magistrates held the duovirate for a second term.
