Obverse description Bare head of the emperor Caligula (Gaius Caesar Germanicus) facing right, rendered in the portrait style typical of early Julio-Claudian provincial coinage. The effigy displays youthful facial features consistent with imperial portraits of Caligula. The surrounding legend reads C CAESAR GERMANICVS AVG, distributed around the periphery of the flan. The coin is struck on an irregular flan with moderate relief, characteristic of provincial hammered bronze issues. The field shows natural patination and moderate wear consistent with circulation use.
