Obverse description Bare head of Agrippa (attributed), facing right, rendered in a robust provincial style with strong facial features. To the left of the portrait, a schematic square labyrinth symbol is depicted in the field, a celebrated emblem of Cnossus referencing the mythological Minotaur. The colonial legend encircles the effigy, partially legible around the periphery. The flan is irregular and the strike slightly off-centre, characteristic of provincial Augustan-era bronze coinage. The surface retains a dark green patina with areas of cuprite showing through.
