Obverse description Bare bearded head facing right, rendered in a somewhat archaic provincial style with heavy, flowing locks of hair swept back from the forehead. The portrait is boldly modelled in high relief typical of Lacedaemonian civic bronze coinage of the Augustan period. The head fills most of the flan, with minimal field visible around the portrait.
