Obverse description Bare-headed and laureate bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, with curled hair and short beard rendered in the characteristic Antonine style. The imperial effigy occupies the central field, with the circumferential Greek legend disposed around the periphery. The portrait exhibits the dignified, slightly idealised treatment typical of provincial bronze coinage struck at Nicomedia under the Antonine dynasty.
