Obverse description Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Emperor Valerian I facing right, depicted in three-quarter rear view, with the paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The Imperial titulature legend surrounds the effigy in Greek characters, reading clockwise around the periphery of the flan. The style is typical of provincial bronze coinage struck under Roman authority in the Ionian conventus during the joint reign of Valerian and Gallienus.
