| Obverse description | Draped bust of Salonina facing right, her hair elaborately waved and secured with a diadem, shown from the front in the provincial style. The empress wears a garment with visible drapery folds at the shoulder. The circular legend ϹΑΛΩΝΙΝΑ ϹΕΒ runs around the periphery of the flan, identifying the subject as Augusta Salonina, consort of Gallienus. The portrait exhibits the characteristic rendering of mid-third century Roman provincial coinage from the Troad. |

| Reverse description | Draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Corinthian helmet and the aegis adorned with serpent scales and a gorgoneion rendered in low relief across the chest. The aegis is clearly delineated with dotted ornamentation at its lower border, consistent with Iliensian civic types. The legend ΙΛΙΕΩΝ, identifying the issuing city of Ilium, is distributed in the field around the bust, affirming the civic pride of this Troadic mint in its association with the goddess patron of the city's legendary heritage. |
